Me as a Teacher Candidate

Here is a picture of me while researching and taking pictures for a land based assignment. We needed to find a space to take our students on a field trip and design an activity to take the students on. Here I am under a shelter and teaching space at Witty’s Lagoon in Metchosin , BC.

Here is picture of me about to embark on a four day long hike in New Zealand. On this hike we had to carry all our equipment on our backs. This was a touch challenge but so rewarding and I felt very proud of myself after.

I included this picture of my family from this Christmas. We aren’t able to all get together very often but this was a time we were able to. I wouldn’t be where I am today without them. I love them lots!

Every week this semester I made muffins on Mondays and named it “Muffin Mondays”. This was a fun weekly routine where I made a different flavour of muffin. It was relaxing activity to do weekly even during a busy semester and I enjoyed the routine. As a teacher candidate I know that routines are important to students and learning. This is an example of a fun routine that I have and it shows that you can have fun with your routine too!

Here is a video about the science experiment presentation my group did for our science class this semester. This shows the fun and memories we can make in science! As a teacher candidate I think that its important to get creative with our learning and teaching and to have fun with it.

The above videos were when I was in New Zealand on a day hike through Tongariro National Park. This hike was a challenge but has a breathtaking view. On this hike we were able to see a volcano and sulphur pool along the way. As a teacher candidate I’ve included these clips to represent overcoming obstacles and mountains. Though this analogy is a bit corny I do think its true for me during this program and will I continue to work hard and overcome challenges in my own teaching practice.
